SAT

Scholastic Assessment Test

The SAT is a standardised test administered by the College Board and it is required to be taken by students seeking admission to graduate schools. The full form of SAT is Scholastic Assessment Test, formerly known as Scholastic Aptitude Test. The SAT has been developed to assess the written, verbal and mathematical skills of the candidates.

The SAT is a pencil-paper test taken by those who wish to pursue graduate courses, particularly those required to take the SAT test in the US and Canada. Previously, students seeking admission to a particular course were required to take the SAT subject test but now SAT subjects have been discontinued by the College Board from June 2021. UG candidates should know when they should start studying for the SAT.

Why to take the SAT Exams?

Students wishing to enrol in graduate programs in the US appear for their SATs. Most colleges in the US require the SAT for admission to undergraduate courses. In addition, many schools also offer SAT scholarship money to students based on their SAT results.

SAT Scholarships: One of the biggest drawbacks of studying abroad is paying tuition fees in foreign currency along with high living expenses. Due to such reasons, at times, many sections of the students are unable to go abroad and settle down for other options. However, by availing of various scholarships and education loans to study abroad, students can finally make their dream come true. The College Board in association with some Indian universities has introduced SAT scholarships for Indian students. The scholarship is available on the official website of every college along with other fellowships and grants which are regularly awarded to the deserving students. Students can also opt for education loans from financial institutions for studies abroad.

Every country has its own specific selection criteria for international students. The SAT exam is accepted at various colleges around the world. It is most popular for undergraduate courses in the United States and Canada. Although it is also accepted by some universities in the UK and Australia.

As discussed above, the SAT exam is required by undergraduate candidates to enrol in foreign universities.
